   I found on my front porch.
   The screaming didn't drive you away
   and you were honest when I asked you if you minded
   if I slept over forever.
   
   I want to be next to you.
   
2. It would take a lifetime to inhale you.
   Like light and air
   that Indian saffron rice
   shimmering bold on my plate
   and on my tongue.
   
   I'd take my time to enjoy every moment.
   
3. You've got a way of talking
   that makes me think you've got what it takes.
   I have to try hard to stay upright
   and even though I wanted to hold you up like a real man
   you held me up like a forest canopy
   holds a baby macaw.
   
   I was happy to just fall between the branches for you.

   It gave us speech
   and predicted our tomorrows.
   To know you.
   To waste the sun with you.
   To taste the breeze with you.
   It's been written in our phone numbers.
